We are in Avora today. Started with a walkng tour around the town until 1-00pm and we then had some lunch at a local cafe, which I must say was very average.

The Spanish mindset is very slow and the food and service is pretty poor. In both Spain and Portugal the place closes for a 3hr siesta from 1-00pm to 4-00pm, right at the best time to service and sell to the tourists. If you wanted to make a killing, learn Spanish or Portuguese, come to Europe and set up a "Store" you would take the market :-).

My economic analysis, open for business, provide and excellent product or service and you will cream the market, and there will be some left over to pay your tax. :-)

Maybe we have been spoiled on the trip so far but results of the above have left both Spain and Portugal looking tired and falling behind the times. It does produce a quaintness and charm to the place, but that obviously doesn't pay the bills.
Tomorrow we move onto Lisbon the capital of the country, so it will be interesting to see if things are any different up there.
