Prague - Just Incredible

We left Budapest this morning, the 30th July, after a wonderful three days.

Got into Prague after a connection, at 2-30pm and arrived at our hotel at about 3-00pm. By four o'çlock we were walking. I didn't think that we would find another place where every time you turned your head, another fantastic vista appears.

I have probably put too many photo's up here today but couldn't help myself. The city is a lot more intimate then Budapest. the river is narrower and the amazing buildings that line the river bank, feel very close as you journey down the river.

On the boat trip 3

Oh the first thing we did, by the way, is take a river boat trip, a great thing to do in order to quickly get a feel for things. We then just walked around the city with our mouths open, and the camera clicking :-) . Here is a small sample.....

The walk from our hotel to Prague Castle
It's the 1st Aug and our last day in Prague. I thought it was going to be a "photo free" day today, but I couldn't resist, so here is a small offering. What an amazing place this is, and we are off to another one tomorrow - London :-)

Birthday in Budapest

Leaving Istanbul
Wow, what a way to celebrate a birthday !!

Got up at 5-00am this morning the 27th July, in Istanbul. Had organised to be collected by a Taxi at 6-00am and the flight took off for Budapest at 8-50am, arriving at 9-50am after loosing an hour.

Birthday Champagne on flight
Had a transfer organised in Budapest and arrived at our Hotel at about 11-00am. By 1-00pm we had settled in and were ready to explore the city.

Got collected from the Airport
We organised a tour from the hotel that included a 2 hr bus trip around the key places of interest and also included a 2 hr trip on the river Danube where we saw even more amazing sites. The tour package is valid for 48 hrs so tomorrow night we will do a night boat trip on the river, but I am getting ahead of myself, so back to today.

Amazing Architecture
I had to put this many photos in the blog today as we saw so many incredible sites and also to try and show you how the day evolved. I will continue the same blog over the next couple of days so the blog is kept to one location at a time!!

Here is a sample of the day :-)

Another bus trip
Well we are now into our third day and we have taken it a little quiter. Took another bus tour, a different one from yesterday. Then we found some markets close by the hotel and had a good look around there. As it was 41 degrees today so we found a swimming pool and spa and spent a few hours in there relaxing and cooling off, a very good decision.

The Markets
Tonight we are going to a "Mozart, Liszt, Vivaldi" concert in the 17th century church of St Michael's. Looking forward to that. Then it will be packing up ready for another early morning trip to the airport, on route to Prague. We have really enjoyed Budapest, it is a beautiful city.
