Aghios Nikolaos on the Island of Crete

We arrived in Crete this morning Saturday the 20th July. It is two windy for the ship to dock, so they are using the ships life boats to take people ashore. We had booked into a bus tour of the island, but decided against that as we needed a bit of "recovery" time after the amazing places that we have visited during the last few days. As I said previously, you tend to get into "sensory overload" if you are not careful, and end up not taking the time to appreciate the incredible places that we are visiting.
Tender to shore

Spoke to Michael, Claire and Benji this morning on facetime, which was great. We then caught the "tender" into the port town of Aghios Nikolaos, Crete. It is by far the least impacting of any of the places that we have visited to date, quite tired and run down. Below are a few pictures that we took.
Stone church :-)

Spent a couple of hours on shore and have now returned to the ship for a quite afternoon, before we set sail at 6-00pm for our next destination of Rhodes, Greece.

Enjoy the few images..
