it has to be a highlight :-)
Having spent the day relaxing and getting to know the ship a little better, we were ready for the start of the cruise "for real".
We decided to get a table on the aft desk restaurant early and get the best seat on the ship, to experience the departure from Venice, and it didn't disappoint.
What an amazing experience. We left the dock at 7-30pm and cruised down the main canal getting to St Marks Square at about 8-00pm, heading for the Slovenian port town of Koper. The sun set at 8-30 and as they say a picture paints a thousand words, so I will post a selected few here to give you a "taster".

So tomorrow we are off to the Slovenian port of Koper. We will be having a look around the old 13th century town and also do a bus trip to the medieval town of Piran before we go to a winery for some "tasting"of Slovenian wine.
