It's Back to Boston via Portsmouth

White Mountain Hotel, North Conway
Left the White Mountain Hotel, North Conway New Hampshire, early this morning and setout on a long days drive to Portsmouth New Hampshire, on the coast.

First Pitstop for the Day
We made a "Pitstop" at a Dunkin Donuts" and reached our lunch time destination of Kennebunkport Maine, on the Atlantic coast, by mid day.

Kennebunk Bridge
We had a quick look around the town and then headed out on a walk to the coast, a 1 hour round trip.  Kennebunkport is a summer location for the rich and famous and is the location of the Bush family summer residence. The Maine coastline is beautiful, and it was great to get to see it.

Kennebunkport town
We left Kennebunkport at 2-30pm and drove to York to view a famous lighthouse, at least for the American's, at Cape Neddick.

We then drove back into New Hampshire and to our hotel in historiic Portsmouth. This is our final night of the tour and we will be having a celebration "lobster" dinner at a Harborside restaurant, so looking forward to that.

Just returned back to the hotel after our final dinner together, great night!! Great bunch of people. Rob, our Tour Director, said that this was one of the best, no the BEST, tour group that he has had.

It has been a really good week, amazing scenery, great bus and driver, excellent director, good hotels and food, fantastic weather and meeting new friends .....  What else could you ask for on a "New England in the the Fall" tour, blessed !!

Tomorrow we head back to Boston and say our farewells.

Today was the final day of the tour, and we drove from Portsmouth to Boston with two stops, the first in Rockport, a small fishing village / converted to Art galleries and tourism. Spent a couple of hours walking around the village and then proceeded to Salem, infamous for the witch trials in the 1690's, had some lunch and a quick look around before been dropped off at the airport.

However, before we set off in the morning, I spent an hour on a very quick walk around the old historic areas of Portsmouth to try and get a feel for it.

When we got on the bus this morning we received the tour photo, so I have included that in here as well. All in all a great trip, we really enjoyed it.
