In Southampton for a Few Days

Wickham Hampshire

It is now Wed 14th and we have been in Southampton, with Barry and Christine, recharging the batteries and catching up with old friends and sharing lots of memories. It has been a good time and we are now ready to head back to Europe and begin the next stage of the trip.

Touring around the local Villages

We have driven all the familiar streets, seen the old places where we lived and visited some of the places that we used to enjoy.

Roman Wall Southampton

Mainly though we have caught up with a number of people that we developed friendships with during the six years that we lived here, particularly Mick and Fran, and Paul and Lorraine. We have lunch with Mick and Fran and then dinner with Paul and Lorraine which was really great. This evening Barry and Christine had organised getting a number of the other people that we knew and we met together at the new church in Hedge End, it was great to see them all.

"Above Bar" Southampton

Tomorrow we will catch the train to London and then onto Lille in France. We are looking forward to finding my great uncle grave in Armentieres in Northern France.
